The 2026 Dinner Series wrapped up Thursday night. What better way to end our monthly meetup than great comfort food from Eat’n Park. Of course, Mr. Clougherty and I shared our usual talking points, like the construction at the high school. Since we’re not getting together in November, I also wanted to share my upcoming five year anniversary at Giant Eagle. That will occur just before Thanksgiving.
I also shared the news that I’m going back to church, since I have a free day on Sunday. I’ll be visiting Mountain View Ministries located on Frye Farm Road near Speedway. It’s a church that a couple of girls from Cutie’s attend. The only church atmosphere in the last five years has come from the Bible studies and a few church visits. Nothing has really stuck. I’ve done this gender nonconforming thing the last five years but I have (and hate) to admit it’s worn itself out. I’ve feared upsetting people who look to me as an inspiration and who have supported me.
Will it be worth missing the Steelers game in Paris? I know it’s an early kickoff but I wanted to strike while the iron was hot. My heart is on fire for God, even if my political views don’t align with everyone else’s. I understand some places won’t be open minded.
Back to dinner. Mr. Clougherty and I both ordered one of the turkey dinner features. I was feeling the turkey dinner, having missed the boat a few years ago when I did my turkey sandwich tour. He got the Pittsburgh Turkey Sandwich, which I hope to return for in November.
We enjoyed each other’s company, as usual. I wish we could have saved room for a slice of pumpkin pie, though. Even though our dinner dates are done for the season, maybe a Cutie’s coffee flight is in our future come December.
