Monday morning marked a major milestone for me. One of two that Iโll be celebrating as Summer turns to Fall. Itโs a good skill to have if you plan to study abroad, visit a new country, or want to advance in your professional life. I discovered Duolingo back in 2018 but it didnโt quite stickContinue reading “A Perfect SAT Score on Duolingo!”

September to End with Milestone!
August is down to its final days. Kids are officially back in school with the exception of a few school districts. Pumpkin season is officially starting for me, even if the temperature is forecast to be 91 degrees on Tuesday. Fall will be here in a few weeks, and in Toastmasters we are in theContinue reading “September to End with Milestone!”
Halfway to my Quota!
Well itโs a season wrap for the latest season of King of the Hill on Hulu/Disney+. I wasnโt sure how the first rebooted season would have gone but it grew on me. The loss of voice actors over the years might have had an effect on how good the show was going to be. SeasonContinue reading “Halfway to my Quota!”
Plaza Azteca Review!
Thursday night marked 30 years since I started high school. One of my classes on my first day at โthe big schoolโ was Pre-Algebra with Mr. Clougherty. We met for our monthly dinner at a new spot, Plaza Azteca. While September and October restaurants have been lined up, I wasnโt sure about where to goContinue reading “Plaza Azteca Review!”
Donโt Close Those Pools Just Yet!
If you have been enjoyed the nice weather and lack of humidity and are ready for Fall, I have news for you. Donโt close those pools just yet! The heat is making a comeback to start September in the days leading up to the holiday weekend. We may even hit 90 degrees on Monday andContinue reading “Donโt Close Those Pools Just Yet!”
Six Days to Meet my Quota!
Including today, there are six days left in the month of August. So far, I have seven blog posts. I planned to do thirteen for the month (and the same for September). That gives me six days to meet my quota. Hmmmm. This makes for an interesting โ6,7โ. Not to worry as I keep chuggingContinue reading “Six Days to Meet my Quota!”
Planning my Fall Vacation!
On my usual Friday morning off, I made plans for an early lunch with my aunt. We met at our usual place of dining, Bradyโs in Acme. In addition to lunch, we also began to make plans for our Cape May trip that weโre going to take in October. We discussed what rooms weโd likeContinue reading “Planning my Fall Vacation!”
Happy Birthday to the OG and GOAT!
When you think of great creators in animation, what names come to mind? Thereโs Matt Groening with the Simpsons, Mike Judge with Beavis and Butthead and King of the Hill; Trey Parker and Matt Stone with South Park; and, Stephen Hillenburg with Spongebob Squarepants. On the Mount Rushmore of Animation, I think creator Jim JinkinsContinue reading “Happy Birthday to the OG and GOAT!”
Westmoreland Mall vs. South Hills Village
I had the house to myself Saturday afternoon upon waking up. The rest of the family took an end of summer road trip to Shawnee. Itโs a little tradition we do for BariSax before she goes back to school. Down to one hand now for the 7th and 8th graders. Less than that for everyoneContinue reading “Westmoreland Mall vs. South Hills Village”
A Work In Progress!
This month Iโve had some follow-up appointments for my kidneys and a recent sleep study. It was a bit nerve-wracking for me as I didnโt know how they would turn out. Fortunately, they didnโt go too bad. I just need to eat more foods rich in potassium and phosphorus and improve my Vitamin D levels.Continue reading “A Work In Progress!”
