Being the last Thursday of the month, Greensburg held its monthly night market. That meant downtown was going to be packed. The growth of this event has been so phenomenal over the last few years. I went a few times in 2020 to support small businesses during COVID, as the local restaurants and shops neededContinue reading “Greensburg Night Market/Coffee Bean Visit!”

Itβs Summer, But Fall Coffee is coming!
This weekβs weather will start out hot and humid, as we add to our 90 degree days for the Summer. Late in the week, we get a break from the heat as we usher in August. While we try to stay cool this week, letβs look forward to Fall and some of the new FallContinue reading “Itβs Summer, But Fall Coffee is coming!”
Maintaining my Magnificent Speaking Streak!
Over the last year, Iβve given at least one speech every month at my Toastmasters meetings. Sometimes, if the schedule allows I give two speeches a month. Iβve done it in consecutive weeks as well. The exception has been the month of January, but I still consider this run to be successful, having spoken 11Continue reading “Maintaining my Magnificent Speaking Streak!”
Everything is Falling into Place!
Wednesday night, our Laurel Highlands officers all got together for a meeting. We used Google Meet, which was a nice contrast to Zoom. Iβve been attending online meetings since 2020 (when the pandemic forced us to hold them virtually), and this meeting was good, even if we didnβt cover everything in the allotted hour. WeContinue reading “Everything is Falling into Place!”
Looking Back at my Quarter-Life Crisis!
Iβve been βA Promised Landβ for about a month and made it close to the halfway point. By now, itβs 2009 and Obama has been president for a month and is trying to get the economy out of the Great Recession that started in the Fall of 2008. Iβve read up on the collapse ofContinue reading “Looking Back at my Quarter-Life Crisis!”
It’s Summer, but Back to School and Fall are Coming!
Last night at work, I began to notice signs of change. Itβs still summer, but Iβm seeing back-to-school displays up front. In the back of the store and going into the backroom, I discovered boxes Halloween candy and Fall treats. These will go in the seasonal aisle as summer progresses. I have yet to seeContinue reading “It’s Summer, but Back to School and Fall are Coming!”

Friday was the Fourth of July which it meant it was time for the annual picnic at the Gaffron farm in Guffey. The farm opened at 4 with the food being served at 5. We arrived a little bit after the doors opened with our cooler full of pop and beer and a cookie bar.Continue reading “Fourth of July at the Farm 2025!”
Making Headlines!
Making headlines today, my vacation has come to an end. Sometimes your time off has to end for the next one to begin, and that will be in October. By then Iβll be trading the pool and the fruity drinks for autumn leaves and pumpkin spice lattes. I needed a vacation from my vacation, andContinue reading “Making Headlines!”

Stylish Summer 2025 Vacation Report Card (so far)
So far, Iβm four days into my Stylish Summer 2025 Vacation. Has it gone well? What could I have done better? I think itβs gone pretty well. Like the Summer of 2024, itβs been a scorcher. Unlike last year, my mood has greatly improved (even though it could have spiraled with the cool, wet endContinue reading “Stylish Summer 2025 Vacation Report Card (so far)”
