Well, I finally did it. I tried my first Gobblerito. You know what? It was really good. It was my preview to what should be a great Thanksgiving holiday. My aunt drove down from Somerset to try it with me and she enjoyed it too. I finished mine while she didnโt.
Mad Mex is a local chain with nine stores in the Pittsburgh region. Canonsburg, Cranberry, Monroeville, North Hills, Oakland, Robinson, Scott Township, Shadyside, and the Waterworks. We ate at the Monroeville location inside Miracle Mile Shopping Center. They also have two other locations in Erie and Willow Grove.
It didnโt take us long to order our drinks and food. The menu had a lot of great options but we were here for one thing and one thing onlyโฆ the Gobblerito. I had a 12 oz Cranberry Margarita frozen with salt on the rim. In addition to our food, we also had free chips with guacamole on the side.
This wasnโt my first go around with Mad Mex. I ate at the Robinson Township location back in March following a Toastmasters Speech Contest.
The atmosphere was very relaxing and well-lit for middle of the afternoon. We had excellent service and the food and drinks were reasonably priced. I got my moneyโs worth on both. The decor was nice and made the place stand out. Thereโs an outdoor area which obviously wasnโt going to be used on day like Thursday but itโs perfect for the warmer days which weโll have to wait until next year to experience.
As for the Gobblerito, it was a win-win.
Grade: A+
Hi James,
I love Mad Mex. My favorite location is the one in Oakland. They also used to have one in State College. I have eaten there too. Not sure if it is still there. I love margaritas but I am not sure the gobblerito would be my thing.
