The Pumpkin Spice leg of my tour wraps up next week, but there’s still time for Fall Treats. Next week coffee shops of the independent and chain variety will begin to launch their holiday coffee menus. Starbucks might be doing that this week. Cuties in downtown Greensburg will roll theirs out on Saturday.
I began the Turkey Sandwich mini-tour on Friday with a trip to the local GetGo in Greensburg. I ordered my Pilgrim sub and with my advantage card was able to get a small discount. I’ve had the sandwich before, having gotten it the first time at another GetGo in Harmarville. It tastes like a delicious plate of Thanksgiving leftovers put together, minus the pumpkin pie and other tasty fixings. Stuffing, turkey, gravy, and cranberry sauce all put together makes this one tasty sandwich. Easy to chew as well. Maybe once Thanksgiving is over I can put together my own Pilgrim sub and then we’ll see whose is better. Grade: A
Next on the tour is either the Primanturkey sandwich from Primanti’s or the Gobblerito from Mad Mex. Since I’m off Thursday and Friday, I might make this experience a lunch date with myself on Friday afternoon.
I started going back to church in September and I attended for three weeks before life and other things got in the way. Don’t worry, I will be back. I’ve missed the most recent sermon series but I’m making up for lost time by taking advantage of the church’s YouTube Channel which has all the services up. I watching the one from a few weeks ago and I should be caught up in no time. The series is on stewardship.
In addition to my work schedule, as I may need time to relax before I go into work, I’m still gun shy about going to in-person services. That feeling is going to take a while to go away. Perhaps I’m more introverted than I give myself credit for. I learned some things about the United Methodist Church that should be obvious but I haven’t kept up. I’ll do my research so I can understand things better.
