This coming Thursday is my night off and I plan to go shopping for some awesome Fall food items and maybe some decor. First, I’ll stop at Giant Eagle or Market District (therefore I’ll be going to Murrysville or Monroeville) and use my gift cards. Maybe I’ll round out the trip by shopping for Fall decor at Michaels or JoAnns. Then on Friday, I’m going to ALDI to check out their Pumpkin Spice display and because I’ve haven’t yet been in that store since they opened last September.
I plan to purchase some Fall coffee and drink it at home this month, as well as check out some of the local cafes and some that will be worth the drive. I’m picking up ideas for good pumpkin spice roadtrips along the way, like Caffe Amadeus in Indiana. This will make for a nice Friday morning roadtrip. Plus, Indiana is another Hallmark Christmas town like Ligonier and Bedford.
I wanted to do this last year but couldn’t quite get it off the ground. Pumpkin season begins Friday and runs through early November. After we turn the clocks back, it’ll be time to try some Thanksgiving features and start planning for the holidays.
I’ll sip my first Pumpkin Spice Latte on Friday and will go to Cutie’s for it. That’s where I’ll spend a majority of time since their Fall menu looks amazing. I’m dying to try one of their flights, especially that Gilmore Girls flight (but the Spooky flight looks just as awesome). I’ll also hit up White Rabbit and Steep Mountain too. If I’m up for a drive, I’ll go to Ligonier too. I plan on posting pics on the socials and in the stories as well.
I don’t have a set schedule, but one place I definitely want to go to is Oakmont Bakery. I’ve been there before and I know how busy it gets. Both visits were on a Saturday. But maybe on a weekday, it won’t be as bad. Afterward, I might take a drive up to Harvest Moon and stop there to try their Fall coffee and maybe buy some chocolate. Is it better than Sarris? Harvest Moon has two locations, in Tarentum and in Natrona Heights.
Finally, I will wait until close to the end of September to try some Fall items, such as the cereals. My favorite is Count Chocula with Franken Berry a close second. I also want to buy the Harvest Tootsie rolls. I have some stuff from last year that I’d like to make that is hopefully still good and has t reached its expiration date. One thing I’d like to try is the Pumpkin Spice Dolly Parton Cookie Mix from Duncan Hines. Maybe I can bring Pumpkin Spice cookies to work or to a picnic.
