It’s always fun to order something online versus ordering it in the store sometimes. You have your advantages which are easier to find what you want online vs. in store. You also have your disadvantages which include the shipping cost and basically, you get what you pay for. But the same holds true for shopping in-store.
When your package comes to your house, you can do a fun unboxing video showing everyone what you got and if it’s clothes, how you look in them. I get so much joy when I order new clothes from Old Navy or new gadgets from Amazon, JCPenney, or Kohls.
Today’s blog post is all about that. You feverish wait for whatever it is you bought and then that day comes. Soon after it’s time for the great Amazon unboxing experience. Have I enjoyed my latest purchases online? Absolutely. Are they worth the money? Sometimes it’s been up for debate but I’ve been pleased as of late. Here’s a few of the things I’ve purchased in 2024 alone.
Digital frameβMy mom inspired me to buy a digital frame after I fell in love with the one she has in the living room at home. I bought mine on Amazon (mine is a little different) but it operates the same. My pics are a little bit different than hers. I have plenty of selfies and Christmas pics on mine. So far it’s been fun to look at and more pictures are coming.
Amazon Laptop bagβI got my laptop last Christmas as a gift from my cousins so I could keep with the blogs. While it occurred to me that I should buy some accessories, I didn’t think about it until recently. Eventually I’m going to want to take my computer on the road and for that I need a bag to keep it in so I don’t drop it. I tried out the Amazon laptop bag and it works perfect.
Harry Potter and the Order of the PhoenixβWith the exception of book 2, I have ordered every Harry Potter book here on Amazon. I started the series in 2018 and quit just before I started the fourth book in December of that year. I reopened the idea of reading it once again in the summer of 2023 after being inspired by my 11 year old niece as well as a few of my store leaders. Not only have I been reading the books, but also watching the movies.
Book lightβAs cool as the frame and the laptop bag are, this one has been my favorite buy. I can easily read a chapter of my favorite book in the dark or where lighting is reduced. I’ve wanted one for a while but I never got around to shopping for one. This one changes colors as well.
My online shopping experience began in college when I was introduced to a website called half.com. It was 2003 and I just began my first semester at Slippery Rock University. I was able to get discounts on CDs and DVDs and more importantly, my textbooks for class. I never quite caught on to eBay, and it might have had to do with bidding on products. Eventually eBay swallowed up half.com and I soon made my way off of that platform. Nowadays, I buy things online and I don’t sell as I’m pretty well-off and don’t need money. I’ve sold a few things online back in my day but even as a business major, I didn’t have much business sense.
Nowadays, I have great fashion sense.
As I close off the blog, itβs Leap Day. I will finish the latest season of Season Eight of Queer Eye and be caught up on the series once again. Season Nine will be in Las Vegas but the Fab Five will be minus one of their own as Bobby Berk departs the series. I wish him the best but he will be missed.
March 13 is a historic day here at home and for our nation (as well as our planet). In 1993, it was the East Coast blizzard. In 2020, it was one of the last normal days weβd have before the world went on lockdown due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
That last normal day changed our lives and really put things into perspective. Iβll have a blog post up in March looking back on how my life has changed since the pandemic.
