This Fall, I have some books that will be coming that I’m interested in reading. One is by a design expert from an award-winning Netflix series. Another is by a girl whom I discovered on Instagram who loves Fall and finds the joy in every season. Third is a lifestyle book written by a country music and multimedia icon and entrepreneur.
Recently, my interests shifted over to home decor and back to country music. Part of the inspiration is from people whom I’ve followed on social media who have their own small business ventures or who are influencers. The other is from my family, particularly my mother who owns quite a few cookbooks and home decor books herself. Mom introduced me to country music at age 12 when we listened to Garth Brooks on road trips. Before that I never really listened to music much and turned it off every time I heard it.
Here’s the three home decor and lifestyle reads that will have me feeling at home this coming Fall season.
Bobby Berk–Right at Home–September 12

Bobby Berk’s first book is one full of do-it-yourself projects to help you make every room in the house shine. He is the design expert on Netflix’s Queer Eye (2018). His rise to fame didn’t happen overnight and he had to really go through the rain to find the rainbow. I learned about him from the Queer Eye book I got for Christmas and watching the series on Netflix. Compared to the other experts (Antoni, Jonathan, Karamo, and Tan), he is definitely more behind the scenes and has a team in place to help him on the home repair projects that occur on the show.
Steffy Degreff–A Home for Every Season–September 26

Steffy Degreff (@steffy) is a content creator and Instagram influencer who loves the color orange and finds the joy in every season. I’m a follower and love what she posts, from home decor to holiday ideas to outfit inspiration. Her living spaces include an A-Frame cabin nestled in the Catskill Mountains of New York as well as a Cape Style home in Long Beach, NY.
The book has: a year’s worth of ideas; eight holidays to decorate for, including Christmas; and five seasonal recipes made to please your party guests. I looked to one of her posts for inspiration as I was getting ready to celebrate my first Friendsgiving a few years ago.
Reba McEntire–Not That Fancy–October 10

It’s Tri-Bond time. Country music icon, multimedia mogul, and entrepreneur. What do those three things have in common? They describe Reba McEntire, who is releasing her first book in over 20 years. Pictures speak many words, and Reba’s new book is photo-driven. It’s a behind the scenes look at the things that guide her life. Included are: inspiring anecdotes; funny and cute stories; and, tasty recipes as well as lighthearted lifestyle tips. Her success on the country music charts puts her in great company with George Jones, Willie Nelson, and Dolly Parton.
The foreword is written by Garth Brooks.
I’m looking forward to getting all these new reads and I’ll be able to make good use of what’s left on my Amazon gift cards. Maybe I’ll learn a trade along the way. I am looking forward to taking a road trip to pick up one or two of these amazing books. Target run and Barnes and Noble trip, here I come.
Before I close, I want to let you know I am enjoying my Miranda Lambert book “Y’all Eat Yet?”. I will be starting a new chapter tomorrow. I don’t binge read or binge watch because I like to savor my books and my shows and I plan to have this lifestyle/storybook/cookbook read by the end of September, just as these new reads are coming out.
