Goodbye February

Well, it was a warm February to say the least, plus it was one of the least snowiest. I hope that’s not a sign of what’s come in March. Anyway, onto this recap of last month.

Looking back at Feburary, it was a stressful one for my family as Benny went back into the hospital week before Valentine’s Day. I don’t like to go into detail in the blog out of respect for my family but he has improved since this most recent hospital stay. I’ve been to Children’s Hospital a few times to see him as well. All this stress weighs on my mom as she worries about my aunt and thus it’s brought down to me.

I had a good report at the doctor on Valentine’s Day. My blood pressure was 130/80. Better than it was two years ago when I was at heart attack/stroke level. The medication has done its job.

One of the big highlights was not using my gift cards like I originally planned, but returning to the gym and scheduling a regular exercise routine. I’m going Thursdays to Mondays, keeping Tuesday and Wednesday open for meetings and blog prep. For now, I’m only doing cardio and running on the treadmill as well as stepping on the elliptical. The latter really works up a sweat and gets my heart rate going.

After having not gone to Planet Purple much since I’ve had my membership (because I used my car so much traveling to job sites at WIS and could never made time) and not at all the last three years (due to COVID), I’ve definitely made up for lost time. I’ll be looking at some new Spring fits (maybe today) and some activewear. I keep saying that but now I’m ready.

Last night marked my first back to back church attendance since September 2021. There are reasons why I walked away and I don’t want to keep defending myself forever. I said things a little differently then and I worried I wasn’t welcome but since I made my return to Cornerstone in December (when Deb invited me to the Christmas show), I realize that was me overthinking things and being insecure.

Gender nonconformity and non-binary is staying. In a weird way, it gives me the confidence to keep this blog going. It’s its own good luck charm.

I got my food reviews done for February. I went to Kings for breakfast and Chili’s for dinner. I’ll blog Eat’n Park and Kings this month since it’s now Lent and I want to try some seafood options. That means Whale of a Cod is coming.

I finished Queer Eye and just went back to The Office and started Parks and Rec on Peacock. I plan on watching Bel-Air as well.

Did I do what I get what I wanted out of February? No, but I had a very productive month, for what it’s worth. Grade: B
