The things that make me tick are finally coming back into play. Those are Toastmasters, my blog, and my fashion sense. It’s contest season and most events are in person once again. I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to make the ones I want to be at, but I’ll make the most of every opportunity.
Presidents Day 2022 was the best of the year by far. I’m saying that because of the amazing weather we had this afternoon. 64 degrees in February with wall to wall sunshine is nothing to take for granted.
After three months figuring out the new work hours at Giant Eagle and getting into a new routine, I feel as if I have everything figured out. After a cold January following a warm Christmas holiday, it was nice to get outside and enjoy my first taste of Spring.
Once I saw today’s weather forecast and knew that I was going to be off, I was going to have to make plans to get outside. I spent the first part of the afternoon at Twin Lakes and took my first walk since early November. Amid looking for a new job, having to adjust to a new sleep schedule, and feeling uninspired, I wasn’t able to get outside as much as I wanted to.
I capitalized on my afternoon by taking a nice drive out to my little Stars Hollow . I got coffee from Abigail’s (they still had their IceFest Coffee choices). I ordered an icicle latte and had it outside on the beautiful Ligonier Diamond. What trip to Ligonier wouldn’t be complete without pictures on the Diamond itself?
My first in person speech contest on Saturday in two years had me feeling good too. Holding last year’s contests, conference, and TLI online was OK but it took away the fun of doing it in person. Things are hopefully starting to get back to normal.
I submitted my application to join Laurel Highlands Toastmasters on Saturday following the contest. Tomorrow night will be my first meeting as an official club member. I plan on having a speech ready for the March 8 meeting.
This weekend is my Coachiversary, celebrating my awesome shopping trip to Tanger last February that ended with me landing a cute Coach tote. It’s also Old Navy Super Cash time once again, so I’ll post pics of my amazing fashionwear. Let’s just say, Harry’s got some competition and I’m going to be slaying it 🔥 🔥.
Let’s hope today’s weather marked a great start to a healthy 2022.
