The Top Ten of 2021 continues with #9. We move on once again in the Spirit of Toastmasters and talk about last summerโs DTM gala at Westmoreland County Community College.

Finally after a year has passed and our conference was cancelled due to Covid, that I was able to run the gauntlet with the other Distinguished Toastmasters. In addition to that we got some great pictures in front of the โred carpetโ, disco danced to some great tunes that our DJ Tyler Crummy played, and got sent outside when the fire alarms went off. The dancing went on even as we made our way outside.
I got to meet Sharon A. Joseph and learn more about the new Laurel Highlands Toastmasters Club. She had an awesome team of mentors and sponsors to help her put it all together. It had just recently chartered and became the first club to be hybrid (online and in person). This club is going to do big things and Iโll be joining them very soon as a member.

The red carpet became a theme for the Laurel Highlands charter party and officer inductions a few months later in November. I attended the event and took a few pics on the red carpet myself when I walked into the building. I even did my own little strut on the red carpet. It was a full house and I was happy to be there. I got to meet some great people whom I will be soon be representing the club with. Some of our district leaders also attended the event. Dana wowed me with his knowledge of the history of Toastmasters in Fayette County.

Letโs not forget we had a conference several years ago at that great resort called Nemacolin.
