Weekend Update 10/17

Another great weekend has come and gone. This weekend I passed up Fall Symposium for my longtime tradition of Homecoming at Slippery Rock University. I seemed to regret it at first because I learned that the parade was cancelled due to rain. Should I have attended the Fall Symposium and give up on Homecoming? Absolutely not. I was still doing this and neither rain nor snow nor sleet would be stopping me.

I got there around 9:30 and ventured around campus in the rain. That windbreaker came in handy. I changed wardrobe as I made my way to the alumni tent for lunch. As I sat down I changed into my mint blazer and toted my pink Coach purse as I got lunch from the catering service. I won a door prize for answering one of the questions correctly. I bought a new sweatshirt and T-shirt at the book store and drank some Starbucks coffee. I could have gone home and labeled this day a bust but I continued to suck it up and got my ticket for the football game.

The football team was unimpressive in a loss to IUP. I got some compliments on my pastels and chatted on Messenger with second momma Paula. She made the afternoon much better. Once the game ended I made my way home and I got to hear about Mom’s trip to Harpers Ferry and Winchester. My cousin was a gracious host and it felt like this was a trip worth taking.

I shopped (online) at Nordstrom Rack and bought my shackets. They’ll be delivered in a week or two. My Instagram and beauty buddy Vanessa will be so happy when she sees pictures of me modeling them in an upcoming fashion blog. Here they are.

Later this week I will ordering these blouses on Amazon that I can’t wait to wear with my infinity scarves. The red blouse will look great with my leopard print scarves and the leopard blouse will have me slaying 🔥 🔥 🔥. It’ll look great with a Coach purse and a blazer. I’m also going to say yes to the dress 👗 meaning I’ll wear one. No wedding bells anytime soon for me.

Sunday was a quiet day and the highlight of the day was my Achievers meeting. We had two great speakers and we had a visit from our Division Director who gave his two cents and also participated in the meeting during our Round Robin evaluations.

Next week begins my “church tour” as I will attend services Saturday night at Community United Methodist Church in Harrison City. After so much activity the last few weeks, it’ll be nice to have to do anything this next weekend. Looking forward to the Fall Festival at Greendance on Halloween and upcoming fun events in Ligonier in November. Those will be mentioned in an upcoming blog post.

Life begins at 40 and with changes coming at work, it’s time for me to make changes in my life too. Is a career in beauty or as a makeup artist in my future? It’s possible. I’ll be firing up makeup tutorials on YouTube and studying up. Exciting times ahead. Believe IT.

Bye everyone. ❤️ you.
