Stylish Division Awesome Contest

Day number two of my Division Contest run takes me to Oakdale and the West Allegheny Community Library. It’s Division Awesome’s turn to be in the spotlight this afternoon.

My day began with church at Cornerstone. I attended the 11am service (I arrived around 10:15 to eat breakfast). I sat with some new friends I met a few weeks ago and continued building my friendship with them. Pastor Steve Pink, the young adults pastor, gave a great sermon in the Snapshots of Jesus series. I socialized with some people in the lobby and looked foreward to seeing them next week. I left for Oakdale around 12:30pm.

I arrived at my destination, the West Allegheny Community Library, around 1:30. Enough time to get situated and prepare for another great contest. I would only be a spectator and enjoy the speeches instead of judging the speakers, a tough job in and of itself. Yesterday’s was highly competitive.

I met up with my Division Director, Brett Aristegui. We sat together and would hash out a strategy for the coming weekend’s division contest in Johnstown. He was serving as contest chair and I was going to be chief judge. I couldn’t judge since Faerie was going to be competing.

I put together a nice outfit for the contest (which I also did yesterday as well). I just bought some V-neck tops and a new pair of jeans. The blue really popped and my new houndstooth infinity scarf really stood out. That pattern goes great with any outfit.

Another houndstooth scarf. This pattern goes well with any outfit you put together.

The clock was approaching 2 and it was time for the contest to begin. It actually began around quarter after. John introduced himself as the Division A Director and Toastmaster. Area 4 Director Marci served as Contest Chair.

It was a banner contest, just like yesterday’s. I filmed Donna’s speech for her as she was competing in the International portion. Alison was back in the contest after competing last year. The weather was nice for a Sunday afternoon but they still had a great turnout for the contest. We wrapped up around 4:00.

Just like in Johnstown, I got compliments on my outfit. I just bought two new scarves so I haven’t finished updating my wardrobe by a long shot. Not bad for $6 vnecks and $10 infinity scarves from JCPenney and Amazon. Once again I rocked my red leather jacket with class.

I have Division C’s contest to look forward to on Saturday. It’s going to be great. Great speakers scheduled. It’s going to once again be tough to pick a winner. What a great contest weekend. Just like last year when I began my Toastmasters comeback. It’s back at the same place we had area 21’s contest.

Time to close off the blog. Keeping it real, I spent the day in downtown Ligonier. As I enjoy Gilmore Girls, I tell myself that the quaint little town is my own little Stars Hollow. I’d like to come back and do some shopping once everything opens back up. Second Chapter Books and Ligonier Sweet Shoppe are calling my name, and lunch at the Ligonier Tavern. That view of Main Street? Breathtaking.

As you start the week, remember to live your best life. Be your best you. ROCK out because you are worth it.

Happy people don’t have the best of everything, the make the best of everything. Take that with you this week. Things are hard right now but this too will pass.

When the nonessential business ban ends, I’m planning a nice shopping spree on Main Street and supporting my local businesses. They’re going to need our help more than ever.

Make this upcoming week and every day lovely. The best makeup 💄 you can wear is a smile.

Bye everyone. ❤️ you 😘 🤗.
